Policies...

"Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." -John Lennon

These policies are in place to encourage common courtesy. Life can be complicated; in the event of unavoidable life events, or illness, I reserve the right to waive any fees.

Please be considerate of my time and the time of others who may be waiting for an appointment.

New Cancellation Policy (FROM THE SAILING MASSAGE THERAPIST) Please kindly provide 24 hours notice if you need to cancel your appointment. There is no charge for cancelling an appointment within 24 hours. However, it is at the therapist’s discretion if she would like to terminate treatment after multiple cancellations. This is a busy practice that works with clients who are invested in their health. If your therapist feels like you are not invested in the treatment plan provided, you will be excused from the practice. Why? I have always had a difficult time enforcing the previous policy (charging if there is a cancellation within 24 hours). I looked inward, took a long walk, and pondered why that was so. This is where my new policy came to me. It is not about the money, it is about boundaries and respect. Cancellations are a part of running a massage business. People get sick, or have emergencies, or even FORGET! Who am I to judge whether your excuse is valid or not? It will be clear, however, when someone is not invested in their care- when I am putting more effort into maintaining the relationship than the client is. I am to the point in my practice and as an individual where if a relationship is lacking mutual respect, I will end it. I want clients who choose to spend the time with me to heal. I want clients who are hungry for wellness. With all that being said, cancellations and tardiness are not a huge problem for me, but it happens and needs to have a policy. So, if you are ever in a position where you need to cancel, give me as much notice as possible. There will be no hard feelings. When you do not have to cancel, be fully present for your appointment. Get to the office early, have a drink of water, hit the bathroom, relax. Do not rush in at the last minute apologizing. Respect yourself and give your mind and body the time to be fully present the second you set foot in my purple room. It will not only strengthen our relationship, but your relationship with yourself.

CANCELLATIONS

I require a minimum of 12 hour notice if you must cancel your appointment. This allows an opportunity for another client to schedule their appointment for that time. There is no fee for this type of cancellation.

LATE CANCELLATIONS*

Cancellations with less than 12 hours notice will be charged up to the full amount of the scheduled service.

NO SHOWS*

If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, you will be charged up to the full amount of the scheduled service.

NOTE

Repeated cancellations may require prepayment for future visits and/or may be dismissed from the practice.

ILLNESS

If you have signs and/or symptoms of a potentially contagious illness/infection, fever, or undiagnosed rash, please reschedule your appointment.  This is to avoid potentially sharing your illness with your therapist and other clients.

If I am feeling ill and/or contagious, even though I may wish to work, I will notify you as soon as possible to reschedule your appointment to avoid sharing my illness.

LATE ARRIVALS

Please plan accordingly to arrive on time for your scheduled appointment to ensure the full amount of time is available for massage.

*Gift Certificates/Coupons may be voided by failing to keep your appointment (no show) or cancelling without sufficient notice (late cancellation)

PARKING

Please park in the driveway behind my gray Subaru Outback. If that spot is not available, you may park in the Bright Smiles Dental Office parking lot across the street.

CELL PHONES

If you must make/take a call while waiting for your appointment, please do so on the outdoor patio if possible.

Please turn off or silence your electronic devices while you are in session. If you must have your phone on for any reason, please let me know in advance.

WEATHER

Here in the Northeast, the winters can be unpredictable and with the threat of severe weather, there may be school closings or delays. Some of us have long and/or steep driveways.

If you are unable to keep your appointment due to ice/snow, please let me know as soon as possible. Late/cancellation fees will not apply in this instance.

If, for some reason, I am unable to make it in, I will notify you as well.

PAYMENT

Payment in full is expected at your visit. Cash is welcome, checks (with drivers license) are encouraged, and all credit cards are accepted. There is a $35 fee for returned checks.

TIPPING

A gratuity is not expected, however, if you feel you received exceptional care, it will be graciously accepted.

As always, I am grateful for your business.
